Seeburg Entertainer Juke. Ideas?
« on: February 15, 2006, 02:56:03 pm »
I've had this jukebox for about 15 years.  It worked perfectly.  I put it in storage at my house for about 5 years, then finally took it out.  It won't pickup a record.  The mechanism will try to search, but it won't "grab" the record.

I posted around and found out it might be a PS problem.  I replaced the fuses and gave up.

I moved it to my house in Southern Indiana where it sits in my garage.

I'm all about Mp3 jukes now, so I'm going to list it on ebay.

Anyone have an idea of what's it's worth?  Would be cool to trade it for a 4 player BLitz cab or something.

I paid $400 for it.

You have a model STD2 (subtitled 'Entertainer'). Manufactured from September 1975 through August 1976. Sold for $2,000 when new.

There's excellent troubleshooting information on Tony Miller's Seeburg website:

http://home.pacbell.net/fmillera/

He actually worked on the design of these machines and was in the factory service department. He's written several books on the repair of these machines and the special amplifiers inside them. He services the "black and gray boxes" inside them, too.

:D  It is replies like that that keep me coming back  reading this board everyday while I eat my Lunch.  I swear Ken must have the memory of Data from STNG.  The knowledge of some of the people on these forums is mind boggling......sorry not trying to hijack the thread but I thought Ken should get some kind of "atta boy"

I was waiting/hoping Ken would add to the thread  ;D

I love having the juke, but I just won't ever use it again.  I wound up listing it on ebay last night.  I haven't seen any bids, but I have got 2 questions about it.

We'll see.

I will look at that site though   ;)

Thanks

This model has a very good sounding amplifier, but seeing as it is now 30 years old, I would recap the amplifier to keep it sounding good. Tony Miller wrote an excellent book on servicing this amplifier.

Shoot.  The high bidder has zero feedback with 3 hours to go.

Any chance of getting paid?  ::)

Some person with 0 feedback from Connecticut won the jukebox.

If he doesn't pay, I like like a shmuck offering second chance to the next highest bidder.  He's going to think I'm shilling it.

I really wanted that bad boy.  I didn't want to insult you with an offer though.  My father in law would have loved that one.

After a couple of emails, he replied, "I'm sending a money order"

I don't know for how much, or how he's going to ship it.

I doubt I'll get anything.

I'm going to do a second chance offer since the chump has -4 feedback now.

McCoy, before I do that, want it for $150?

Let me ask the father in law.  He has a hard on for it.  That may be a strong statement, but he really likes it. ;D

I sent the second chance offer on Ebay.  Feel like such a heel doing that.  But my "buyer" screwed 4 other people too, so maybe I look trustworthy.

Why would someone sign up and derail 4 auctions like that?  Drunken fun?  I can think of better things to do.
