I anyone here using a car amp to power your system?

I am curious to how you power such a system from a 110 AC source
They treated me like an animal and that's what I became.

Not me but you could use a 12v transformer.

34 amps on the +12v line out and works like a charm. I have 5 of them powering a 1000+ watt (rms) stereo in my cab. They also provide a nice +5v out for P360's or whatever else you have.

Just be careful with how big of an amplifier you buy.

You may also want to look into one of these:

I used a car amp in my first cabinet.  Ran it off a 20 amp 12v power supply.  However, I just ordered a Sonic Impact for myself for a new cabinet I'm currently building.  Seems like it will simplify things quite a bit while still allowing you a wide selection of speakers.

After reading another thread of yours, I gathered that you already have a car amp you want to use.  I'm assuming you'd rather not have to fork out money for a new solution so...

Hope this helps,

It's real easy. I'm running a pair of 6x9's and an 8" subwoofer and my cabinet absolutely rocks. It's overkill for an arcade cabinet, but when you're playing a good schmup and the blasts surround you with intense volume......it's well worth it! ;D

Do you think an arcade power block could be used.  I don't have the specs on me, but I've got two of those from an NFL Blitz and a SF2.  They have both 12v and 5v and I had planned on using them to power my leds and what not.  I guess my question is, is it the amparage of the power unit that is the biggest concern, (as I'm presuming that 12v is 12v either AC or DC)?
