Vertical games on a horizontal monitor...

I was looking for a way to do something with the black space at the sides of the screen, when playing vertical games on a horizontal screen...here's what I came up with...unfortunately it's a manual process, and I have to do each one individually...

Anyone know of a way to automate this process, or another option? (I've seen cropped bezel artwork doing the same thing)

yes if you don't mind building your own mame.  I have  ahack on my website for an old mame (I think prior to .80).  However, when I get home I will try and remember to look at my bookmarks.  There's a site that has the artwork hack for modern mame but it will need to be compiled into mame.   PowerMAME will probably have something like it then

Kewl, I'd appreciate any resources you can provide...I'm running V.97 of MAME...I've never compiled this MAME thing before, but I'm sure all it takes is a little research to figure it out...
