WTB: Old computer (500 mhz or better) - topic modified
« on: February 11, 2006, 05:59:21 pm »
Anyone have an older computer that they are looking to get rid of?

Hard drive optional (i have a couple unlocked Xbox drives I can use).

I am building a vertical cab for the classics so I dont need much horsepower.

PM me or email me.

I think I have an old 200mhz-ish system in my room.  If you don't find one, let me know and I'll get the specs for you.

Hmm, okay looked at Newegg.com this AM and for $160 bucks shipped I can build a Athlon XP 2200+ (with adding the parts I have around here).

So I guess I should ask if anyone has a 500 mhz or better (complete motherboard/cpu/memory) that they want to get rid of for $60 or so.

Case, hard drive, cd/dvd/floppy drives not needed.

Dweebs I'm positive that I have something that will work for you.  I think I got a pentium 2 that is right around 500mhz and I also have a P3 but it has an onboard intel video chip that I found doesn't work real well with mame.

Do you already have a power supply to use for this system?

I may also have something that fits your needs; PM on the way.

I do have a couple of power supplies, a couple of sound cards, video cards, CD/DVD ROM drives, floppies, and a couple of sticks of PC100 or PC133.

I just basically need a working old system.  Anyone who has volunteered any info on a system, please give me a price shipped to 38004.  Keep in mind, with prices that I can build a new system for less than 165.00 (as mentioned above) so I am not going to pay through the nose.

Thanks for everyones time looking through the old computer junk piles,
-Dweebs

Hey Dweebs, did you ever find a computer?  I have 2-3 older Mother boards lying around, and a few processors (500-800mhz) range and i think i can find 2 or 3 sticks of ram to get you to the 256 meg.  If you want that stuff ou can have it all and just pay for shipping as i really have no use for them and i really need to start cleaning house here.  Just let me know

Hey kenmelk I wouldn't mind taking you up on that offer. I was thinking of building  a few cabs with some spare monitors I have lying around. (For my son and nephews). But had to put it off for financial reasons.

I got a computer system thanks to Popcorrin.

Any of these other offers are up for grabs if anyone wants to PM the respective parties about them.

Thx again,
