ArcadeVGA driving me up a wall
« on: February 10, 2006, 08:43:54 pm »
I recently purchased (last week) an ArcadeVGA card and J-PAC.

i have a marvel vs capcom 2 jamma cab with a 15khz monitor..... I have windows xp installed on the pc

when i start the machine up during the windows loading screen everything basically looks black and white, with a slight bluish tint.

when the marvel vs capcom 2 PCB is hooked through the JAMMA connector everything is crystal clear so i know it's not the monitor or the JAMMA connector. i beleive it must be an issue with either the arcadevga card it self or it's drivers.

anyone else ever go through this problem? i've searched through the ultimarc board and the board here and have yet to find any concrete answers.

i've mailed andy at ultimarc a few days ago and have yet to get a response....any other help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Dave

E-mail him again.  Several people have had lost e-mails in the last couple of weeks.

At any point do you get something that looks right?

Have you booted the machine in VGA mode (not SAFE)?  That was the ticket for a couple of us to be able to load the right drivers, but my problem wasn't the same as yours.

i tried to install in safe mode, vga mode, normal mode...still nothing.  am i supposed to erase the drivers from previous failed installs?

for some reason it seems like the drivers are actually installed now. i  put up the ati control panel and it showed the arcadevga as the card. but STILL is black and white with bluish tint(ok some very faint reds show up.)

could it possibly be a problem with the jpac? it's the usb version. it seems even when the computer is turned off but the cab is still on the screen is half bluish black then when i unplug the jpac it goes completey black. again when i plug my normal pcb jamma games into the connectors the monitor is bright and clear. the jpac is working however as i was just playing mame desperately in black and white mode with my arcade controls. everything would be perfect if it was all only in color arrrgh!

help someone

p.s.
another email was sent to andy.

thanks for the info
Dave

I am also getting the same problem of a black and white display using the J-PAC and arcadeVGA on an arcade monitor.

Did you ever figure out a solution to this problem?

Thanks
