Cocktail Glass and Clips
« on: February 08, 2006, 07:22:48 pm »
Has anyone ordered cocktail glass and cocktail glass clips from VALLEYGAMING on ebay?

You can get the glass, and clips for ~$102 shipped.

Does this seem like a reasonable price?  Has anyone that has ordered from them have any comment about them?

I'm planning on starting my first cab within the next month or two, so I'm doing my price research now.

Thanks,

Steve

Well, 8 clips from arcadeshop.com will run you $24+shipping so is the glass worth $78?  It depends on the type of glass you use.  Tempered glass and smoked glass will cost a substantial amount more than plain glass.

I'm actually using 2 pieces of glass for my cocktail cabinet - one smaller smoked piece that sits in the rabbet groove with the bezel and then a large clear tempered piece for the actual top.  I paid $140 total for my glass from a custom glass shop in town.  It's tough to say what type of deal you are getting without knowing the type of glass you want.

I haven't ordered from them, but I've had those auctions bookmarked for forever now.    It's a good price and, for the glass, the overall price (even with shipping) was better than what I could get locally.

I ended up picking up a used cocktail glass top for $25, but it has scratches and stuff in it.  It's okay, but definitely not as nice as my new cocktail, you know?   I'll definitely be using my used one for a while, but I'm still pondering that one you're referring to on eBay.

Tell us how it works out :D

It's $60 for the glass, $25 for the clips, and $17 for the shipping.
It is clear, tempered glass with nice ground edges.

That's the exact thing I'm planning on doing!

has anybody bought anything from VALLEYGAMING yet?   I'm wondering if they take PayPal.  Their auctions simply say "Payment methods accepted:  Other - See Payment Instructions for payment methods accepted"

I've emailed them a couple times but haven't gotten a response.

I bought my glass and clips from them. I used a paypal green check. It went smoothly but took about 2 weeks since it takes so long for green checks to clear. The glass is really nice. Clips were ok but did show some light scratches. I would buy from again.

The only thing i didnt like about this seller was communication from them was non existent. Everything went ok and everything shipped fine it just would have been nice to have them a little more friendly during the process.

I bought the clips from them as well.   Like you, Kangum, a couple of the clips had some scratches on them, but I think that's just par for the course.  In the end, even though I'm happy I bought 8 glass clips, I stand by my previous statements that paying $30-$40 for black pieces of metal is somewhat ridiculous.
