Mounting your IPAC/KeyWiz/Whatever. In the CP or in the Cab?
« on: February 06, 2006, 09:43:38 am »
Just curious as to any pros or cons of which place to mount the keyboard encoder...

I figured it'd be eazsier to mount my IPAC inside the CP since it will cut down on tons of wires having to run through the CP down inside the Cab.  That way I can have everything hooked up inside the CP and just have the USb/PS2 cable running down into the cable and plugging into the computer.  This would also let me take the CP off real easy if I ever needed to.

But I know I've seen a lot of examples with it mounted inside the cab.

Is there any reason NOT to mount it inside the CP (assuming there's room) instead of mounting it inside the cabinet itself?

If you want to buy 1 encoder and use it on multiple panels... then leave it in the cab and wire it to the CP with connectors.

Otherwise it's much easier to just put it in the control panel.
