List of games that require a spinner.
« on: February 13, 2003, 03:01:24 am »
Does anybody have a list of games that require a spinner or know of a link to one?
Also does anybody know how many buttons are required to cover all spinner games?

sortinfo is a great way to make lists like that:

Thanks for your help )p(. Went to the web site and the picture of the sortinfo is exactly what I have been looking for. I downloaded the program but are unable to create a list like the one on the web site and can't find any instructions on how to do it. Any chance of helping me out on this.

Many thanks
Phil

the list has to be generated with the import function either from a mame executable directly or from a listinfo text file.
on some computers there are difficulties with generating the list from the exe. if sortinfo hangs for you then go to your mame folder and do a mame.exe -listinfo > listinfo.txt to generate the text file by hand and then use import in sortinfo to impoprt the text file...

hmm...too odd.. I imported the mame32 exe into sortinfo, and then
tried to do the "mame32.exe -listinfo > listinfo.txt" and imported that
(10,935 KB text file:-) , but both times, sortinfo tells me I only have
have 949 games (I have all romsets)  and it's glancing through the
controller list I notice it doesn't list games that would jump out at you as being 'classic ' trackball games like centipede and millipede

I know the lack of listed games (949 in sortinfo  vs 3731 in mame  )may be due to parent/clone relationships, but I don't see *Any*
trackball games that resemble centipede listed in sortinfo...any
ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Pull a year and a half strike- it's over 4eva..
besides, WHL rocks!

I used sortinfo a while ago, but it seems to have some flaw. There were games that I knew had certain configurations that just didn't show up.

To amplify that last sentence, there are certain games that do not get listed.
