t-molding Slot cutter with or without bearing?

Hello
I want to put t-molding on my cabinet, but don't know a lot about routing.  Is it necessary to have a bearing on the router bit?
Here are the 2 bits I am looking at (one has a bearing the other doesn't)

I am looking at the 1st one on both pages, the 1/16" bit.

You need the one with the bearing.

The other is designed for use with a table fence that controls the depth of the cut and keeps the edge of the board from coming into contact with the spinning arbor.

I just  got one with the bearing, and it works great.  Took no time at all to do the job.  Just make sure your cutting the right direction.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93511  It is 25 but you get a complete set.  1/2" shank.  IF you plan on ever slot cutting anything besides a MAME cab then it is a good deal.  If not then go wth MLCS.

Not a better price...but I got a similar setup (bit and arbor) at Lowes for the same price after tax.

I'll third MLCS - they rule.  Fast shipping and good prices - can't ask for more than that.

Anyone know if it it possible to use a router bit in a dremel or a drill or some other very small tool?  I need to add t-molding to a piece of my cab that is already installed and the router won't get in there...

You don't need the bearing if you have a guide rial on your router.  THe bearing just makes it so the depth of the groove is the same all the way around.  But, it's not adjustable so whatever depth it cuts at by default, that's wha tyou get....

If you have (or can get) a guide rail type thing for your router, then you can set that so the bit is at exactly the depth you want.  I have this: http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/attachment_detail.asp?productID=1818 for my router which lets me adjust it exactly where I want it.
