To buy or to finish the build process???
« on: January 31, 2006, 09:07:47 am »
I have been building a showcase game cabinet now for 6 months started in thhe summer but because of work and weather i have had no time to complete it as of yet. Now recently i ran across a nice condition showcase cabinet for around 700 with monitor and everything. My question is how would one go about fixing up the nicks in the showcase cabinet? Would i have to relaminate all of it or do they make touch up melamane paint? Also what do you guys think? finish my building or just buy it???? ahhhhhh don't know what to do

How close are you to completing the one you're building?  You probably won't be able to get back what you put into it unless its only a bare shell that you're willing to let go for cost of wood.

If you're somewhat close to finishing, I'd say finish it up.
first off your and idiot

BYOAC! Build Your Own! It's much more exciting that way, no matter how long it takes.  Just imagine telling all you friends 'yeah, i built that from scratch'

Finish. My experience, using old cabinets and making them new. It would have been much faster to make a nice looking machine if I'd started from scratch, and almost the same cost... who knows, maybe even less.

At the time I didn't have the tools however and someone GAVE me a defender cab, so...
