playstation madcatz mc2 wheel to dreamcast

hello all,

i have a playstation madcatz MC2 steering wheel and an INNOVATION dream connectionII 4-way multiconverter for my beloved dreamcast.

IT DOESN'T WORK!!!! 

I have tried every single possible config setup and still the wheel is chop, chop, choppy
went into the DAYTONA USA game controller config setup and found that the wheel "repeats" the entire range like 10 times and the gas and brake controls don't work.....in other words, none of the analog controls are working!

does anyone else out there have the same wheel and successfully got it working with the dreamcast using a different converter? madcatz mc2 wheels for the dreamcast are hard to come by. i am so close to just hacking a dreamcast controller into the wheel which i know i can get to work successfully.....
