Random Starwars yoke Raiders/Twistygrip idea
« on: February 11, 2003, 12:11:54 am »
The black Raider handles remind me more of the grips on a Star Wars yoke than they do Tron joysticks (the blue ones look great though).

Could you use two Raider grips instead of the PVC and RadioShack button handles in the TwistyGrip plans?  I'm imagining cutting a mounting/wiring hole centered on the left side of one grip and the right of the other, and just plugging or ignoring the hole in the bottom where the joystick was.

Paint all the PVC black, and maybe add a black plastic box over the center, and you could make a pretty convincing looking (besides feeling) SW yoke.

I was thinking along the same lines but using an old commodore 64 BOSS hoystick as the handles--not quite the same as a real star wars yoke but alot nicer looking than pvc tubes.  if you ending up building it make sure you document all the way so lazy scabbers like me can copy you  ;) ;D
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...
