correct lock size for coin doors?

When I picked up my arcade cabinet, the previous owner removed the locks that were on the over/under coin mechs.  Obviously, now, the doors can be freely opened.  I want to put a lock on each door, but am not sure what size it needs to be...

I was thinking a standard mailbox lock cylinder from home depot would do the trick, but there are a bunch of different sizes of those also-- not only cylinder size, but how deep the locking mechanism needs to be, etc...

Another question is:  can I purchase two of the same locks that use the same keys? or do i have to get them re-keyed in order to work w/ the same keys?  I wont pay for rekeying...since I am (unsuccessfully) trying to keep this project low cost if possible...

Look at an office supply store or home center for desk drawer / file cabinet drawer locks, they have long shafted ones for wood (like your cab's back door), and shorties for metal (like the coin door).  Many of the ones I've seen have a number in the corner of the package that you can match with another package and they'll use the same key.

Generally these are not bullet-proof locks, and have straight keyholes rather than the cylindrical keyholes on vending machines, but they will keep curious fingers on the outside of your coin doors.

My local Home Depot carries these locks.  About $2.49~$2.99 each, IIRC.  You could buy them with the same key pattern, just match up the numbers on the package.  In my Home Depot, they were in the same aisle as the screen door hardware.  They were just called Cabinet Locks.  My coin door needed 7/8" locks, and I think that is the most common, just lay a tape measure on the hole to check yours.
