  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Simple question
« on: January 17, 2006, 12:51:00 am »
I was testing the config of my control panel i ordered using the ipac sofware. It appears that the second players second and third button are wired backwards. They show up as each other in the test program. Whats my easiest solution without openign the panel to fix the wiring? Can i just tell MAME to switch the two buttons?

Yes!  (Actually, you have four solutions)   Assuming that P2B2 is "S" and P2B3 is "Q".

Either go into MAME - Inputs (All Games) and set P2B3 to "S" and P2B2 to "Q".  This only fixes MAME, not other emulators, though.

Or open the I-PAC software and reprogram the I-PAC so P2B2 sends "Q" and P2B3 sends "S".  This would work with all games.

Or open the panel and swap the microswitches between P2B2 and P2B3.

Or open the panel and actually fix the wiring.
