IPAC issues - random keystrokes when buttons pressed...
« on: January 10, 2006, 02:19:29 pm »
I have an IPAC4 and everything is hooked up correctly (i am pretty certain).  Once in a while after several minutes or hours of playing I get random keystrokes pressed when I press on a combination of buttons.  Whenever I reboot, the problem goes away but obviously I want to know what is causing this so I can avoid rebooting so often.

Here are some examples of what i have experienced:

1.  pressing first three P1 buttons and first four P2 buttons causes an "ALT-TAB".  Note that tab is not assigned to any of those buttons and none of those buttons are the shift or have shifted states programmed.  rebooted and problem went away.
2.  pressing first three P1 buttons and first three P2 buttons caused "RIGHT".  So in SF2 for example, I held down all six of the mentioned buttons and the P1 character walked right until I let go of any one of the buttons.  In this example, the character did not start walking right until the sixth button in the series was pushed.  Order of pushing buttons does not have impact.  Also RIGHT is not assigned to any of those buttons - I used the default buttons configs for all them.

When I was experiencing #2, I did not also experience #1.  They were independent of each other.  I do not have loose wires hitting grounds or anything like that.  Again, the reboot fixes the problem, but it comes back after playing for a while.

Anyone else experience this or know what would cause it?  I can also try posting on ultimarc forum, but thought you guys would know best here.

Thanks for all the help...
