Aside from the weight it would work very good for a cab.

If you use this in a UA II, make sure you reinforce the shelf.

I got that same one at a best buy sale for my cab.  It's a good tv and fits perfectly in a Lusid designed cab.

I really like my Insignia TV too, it does auto-power up and remembers the last channel it was on.

Perfect setup cept one thing: too big for most cabs if not custom built. Usually depth wise.
I put a 19" Insignia in my Roadblasters and it looks awesome, but its too deep into the case, I had to leave of the boards to the back and make a custom setup to make sure it stays put.

I'm about to get an Insignia for my Neo-Geo, but their 24" is way too wide because they have speakers on the sides and the folks don't want me decasing it to rip the speakers off. And their 19"ers are again going to have too much depth and require me to leave the back open with a custom setup to prevent slipping and movement.

Anyone else having this prob?

For those who don't know Insignia is Best Buy's store brand, and is made by a number of different manufactors.  For the most part they are good tube tvs and I rarely see any come back in the store.  I believe alot of them have LG parts in them.

Indeed, they are Best Buy tubes & usually preatty nice. I ended up getting another 19"er for the neo. This one was on sale  for $90, but it doesn't do auto-power on or channel memory, so I have to use the remote on it every time I use it.

mine didn't autopower on either, so I jammed a toothpick into the powerbutton to hold the button down.  That made it so it autopowers on

Has huge ass speakers on side for overall with of about 27.5".  Maybe if decased will fit closer to the 26-27" width.

Right, I was talking general Insignia. The one that doesn't auto power-up is the 19"er thats was on sale for $90 with the speakers mounted to the sides w/component & S-Vid.

Many of their awesome biggie screens usually have side-mounted speakers. Someone should make a noob guide to taking those off for mounting the screen without em.

taking apart a tv can be very dangerous and no newbie should be encouraged to do so.

Bah, it's not that scary, just heavy.  I was super nervous the first time I did it.  Just be sure to completely plan out what you are going to do with everything once you move it out of the case.  There are fragile parts and as long as you prepare properly, you will be fine.  There are multiple examples on this site of how to ground the t.v. so the risk of shock is gone.  I would bet the wiki has an explanation.

Yeah you're right. Beginners take this stuff too lightly & grounding issues can be serious.

But it would still be a great way to get a 20" screen for way less than a monitor.

i would have built a monitor shelf if i didnt have experenced help with my monitor
