$100 bucks to spend
« on: January 07, 2006, 08:45:34 pm »
Alright...I've got $100 bucks to burn.

What should I buy?

I sorta need ideas, cause its a gift card and I've had it for a year now...I gotta spend the damn thing.

Yep...Magic visa.  $100 pre-paid card, good anywhere.

I've always forgotten that I've had it in my wallet so I never spend it.  I need to just order something line or else I forget I have the thing.

I'm tempted to buy some parts for a cabinet with it.  Buttons, joysticks and the like.  But then the reality keeps setting in -- that I have no place to put an assembled cabinet and still need to figure out a whole color scheme and layout.  So thats on hold for a bit.

I've got all the DVDs I want for the moment...can't think of any toys or gadgets or what not that I need.  I'm out of ideas.

Well, my last few purchaces have been a DVD burner for the computer, a bigger hard drive for the xbox and I am looking to spend a few gift cards at best buy on a DVD burner for the house (stand alone version). If nothing else, spend it on gas and food and put the money away that you WOULD have spent on those items. (After a year, usually the card will start to be charged a little each month.) Have fun.

Buy a trackball.   I know you don't have a cab yet, but that'll be one of the things you'll put off buying because it's so much more expensive.  It's like buying something you'd never buy for yourself.

The alternative is to buy ME a trackball, since you'd never get that for yourself either ;D

Go to the pet shop, buy 10 hamsters, and throw each one in a different machine of death. One in the microwave, one in the clothes dryer, one in a stand mixer, etc. For even better effect with the microwave, feed the hamster a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- load of aluminum foil prior

Consider yourself lucky that you can afford to blow $100 on just anything.  In my house it would likely be food, diapers, clothes for the kids or the like.  We don't have any spare cash.

So...upgrade your processor.

Pick up a copy of Computer Gaming Magazine. Each month they have an article called "$100". In it, they break down things they recommend to buy that total $100. Books, tools games, DVDs, electronics, whatever. Each month has a different list of items.

get one of those porn star replicas.  you might have to settle with one that chafes, though.  make sure to wear protection cause i heard someone got a nasty infection from the material.

Dude, that's like 5 years of reading material.  I tend to buy my books at like 10% of the original retail.  Last year at our library I bought about 50 books for $5 and am still reading them.  Good stuff, too.  I'm still working through The Blade Runner right now.

Well, I just blew $425 dollars today on 2 new suits for work.  Luckily it was a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal, so I actually came out in a really good position.  Otherwise it could have been $400 for a single one.

But regardless of that...the $100 dollar gift card survived my journey to the shopping mall.  Didn't see anything that was absolutely worth buying, so I'll have to keep an eye open for what to buy.

It probably will end up in books from Amazon or something.  I do have a backlog of books I've been wanting to read but haven't bought due to having no time to read them.  And I think BrokenBone's recommendation of German Porn could technically be considered in the book family too.  Decisions, decisions.

Unless you already have a dozen suits, buying 2 suits isn't considered "blowing" money.

If you have more than a dozen suits, what, are you a girl or something?  Matching shoes and wallets too, nancy?  Happen to have a man-bag? *cough*PURSE!*cough*

What if he has 12 identical suits, like Superman?

Then that makes a guy a certifiable Sally.

That's crap wimmins do.  Guys are supposed to know better, or at least spend their money on more important stuff than a brazilian identical suits.  You know, stuff like tools, cars, boats, arcade parts, cabs....case closed.  No if's, and's, or but's.  End of story.

Heh!  I said "buts"  ;D

I don't carry a purse.  I carry a Tactical Utility Sachel thankyouverymuch.

I would take that $100, and convert it into 100 Sacajewea gold coins, and then swim in them like Scrooge McDuck.  Maybe buy a kiddie pool for $5.
