Control Panel Printing in OZ - Various Quotes
« on: January 04, 2006, 06:49:50 pm »
Ammended Topic:G'day, ony my Mortal Kombat cabinet, the original CPO is shot to crap. I want to replace it, but I want to do it with an authentic feel.

Basically the original panel is a flexible polycarbonate with an adhesive backing. Its the same material that is used on the touchpads of industrial machinery.

Anyone know where I can get this stuff printed in Australia?

The mamemarquees stuff looks good, but nowhere NEAR as tough as the original CPO. This stuff is like .2mm thick with a white backing.

I've done some researching, results at bottom of posts.

I have dealings with a few Lexan distributors through work although I have never had to purchase anything this thin....

Try Engineering & Export on 9725-4033, I have found them to be quite helpful and reasonably priced.

Alternatively, you could give Dotmar a go on 9878-5544 but I feel their service is pretty sucky. The upside is they do have a good range.

Go to your nearest sign printing company, like Sign-a-Rama etc

I wanted a original feeling cpo for one of my projects.... with the light textured feeling.

After trialing a few through the very friendly shop manager, In the end, I went with a adhesive backed Kodak vinyl, with a one sided tough textured laminate applied over the top.

No lexan needed to cover this baby.  Really nice feel and so far....tough as nails!!!

Hope it helps...

I was lucky.  Cost me nothing.  Built up a repore with the manager after explaining what it was for.  He spun out.  Plus I had to wait about 3 weeks, for the following reason.  Because the job was small, ie Bartop size Marquee and CPO, he just tacked it on to another order and printed it on the left over material.  I think a full very large sheet cost $100.

Initially, I think he quoted me $20-30 for the Marquee on Lightbox material and the CPO on the aforementioned.

Good Luck

www.briteraus.com.au
$130AUD delivered.

Reverse digital printing on clear textured polycarbonate with white laminating on reverse side to cover the printing. Exceptional quality, its the same process they use for displays etc.
