Arrested Development
« on: January 03, 2006, 02:53:59 am »
Anyone watch this show?  Tonights episode was hilarious, funnier then any show I've seen in recent memory.  The show has been getting horrible ratings and is going to be cancelled (even with all the awards and great reviews its had) and is trying everything to boost their ratings, so in this episode they pulled every trick in the book: they did parts of it in 3D, brought in a bunch of guest stars, killed off a character, and the end of the show was live.  Normally this would sound idiotic, but they did it as a parody of what other shows do to boost ratings.

I can't believe this show is getting cancelled.  I highly recommend watching this last episode if you can, although probably the only way to see it now is to download it.

Unless that show is picked up and put on cable, it ain't gonna keep going.  I wouldn't put it past HBO to pick it up and keep it going.  Funny stuff on there if you're into that humor.  The wife hates it and can't manage to avoid telling me HOW much she hates it whenever I watch, but HER shows are leaps and bounds better than Gone With The Wind or something ::)

They actually made several references about this in the show, went something like this:
"Do you think the Home Builders Organization would help us out"
"No, HBO doesn't want us, our only hope is if Showtime Builders helps us"
"Ya, Showtime is probably our best hope"

I completely made up those quotes based on what I remember, but the gist of what they said was along those lines.

I loved Arrested Development in the first 2 seasons.  Then then changed the time slot (did they move it a couple times at the beginning of this season) and I don't even know when it's on anymore.
