jamma / CPS3 monitor question
« on: January 01, 2006, 09:30:31 pm »
I believe the monitor in my CPS-III system is dead.  It's a 19K7901 and doesn't show any signs of life when the cabinet is on (in contrast, the CPS appears to power up and so does the marquee).

Since the CPS3 is jamma I should theoretically be able to simply plug it into another jamma cab and at least get it to work, correct? (minus a few buttons, perhaps).

so the thing is, I have a working 1-slot NEO-GEO.  The wiring diagram says it lacks the -5V input my CPS3 needs.  I found a site detailing how to create the necessary -5V in order to make the NEo-GEO cabinet fully jamma capatable I'm going to try out.

So the question is, given the monitors are different (I can't even determine the model of the Neogeo monitor) there shouldn't be any problem connecting it to the CPS3 board, right?  Since jamma is jamma?

Second question is, assuming there is no problem simply connecting them using the modified neogeo jamma harness, then I should also be able to simply rewire the 6 monitor wires from the neo geo cabinet into my CPS3 wiring harness in the original CPS3 cabinet, right?

I guess I don't know if there would be any sync problems or something of that nature between the two systems' monitors.    ???
