Take 1 of the inputs from the left of the board and make it your common.  This will go to the grounds on your controls.  Then use 9 of the pins from the right for your individual inputs.  You will probably need to use 1N4148 diodes on each of the pins on the right to prevent ghosting.  Play around with the pins to find the best  combination of keys.  You probably want to map every key to make this decisions.  BTW:  You won't be able to run Perfect 360's, rotary joysticks or other controls that don't use switches.

I have hacked a keyboard with a header like that.  I removed the header (use a solder sucker or solder wick) and soldered the wires to where the header was.  But, you may be able to secure the wires to the header, I don't know.

Post the numbers that appear on your pcb.  (the board you removed from the keyboard)
I may have hacked the same one in the past and if so I will give you the matrix map.

thats fine thanks for looking.  then ill try to make one with the chip still connected and if that doesnt work ill try it without.
