Adding LED to slikstik trackball...
« on: December 30, 2005, 12:47:34 am »
Hi all,

I have a slikstik quad on my cabinet and the trackball is not backlit.  Does anyone know how difficult it would be to install that?  Do I just have to get a led and install it?  And if so, does the led get powered from the IPAC on the quad?

Just wondering what I would need to get as far as the LED goes.

Thinking it might be nice to wire it up so its lit.

Thanks for any info anyone can offer.

James

if the 5v line on the IPAC isn't used, you can use that to light the LED.  Otherwise, you can tap into a molex connector from your PC power supply.

As far as parts... all you need is the LED and the correct resistor for whatever voltage you'll be using.

Edit:  You could also just get one of those LED cannons that work with a USB plug and just use that.  It'll be a few bucks more than if you do it yourself, but you can install it in 20 seconds.
first off your and idiot
