Anyone ever use this powdercoater ?
« on: December 16, 2005, 10:42:00 am »
Thinking about buying one of these since I have some things on my cabinet I could use it on and I'm sure I can find future uses.

1.  Does it work well ?
2.  Worth the money ?
3.  Will it last  ?

Here's the link

shame.
I just tossed a great oven. Worked 100%
Tried to give it to good will. They would not take any furniture or appliances.
had to toss in the dump  >:(

 would have been perfect!!!!

I could bake a yoke in my toaster oven.
If you get it please post if it works.

I have this Harbor Freight powder coater, but I haven't used it yet.  I should be using it soon because I plan on powder coating something for a small Christmas present for someone.  From what I've heard, The reviews on it are actually pretty good.  FWIW, they go on sale regularly, I think I got mine for ~$50.

I will be using a toaster oven to cure my projects.  I'll let you know what I think of the HF coater when I use it.

Look at the pictures in the original post. He (she) sprayed it on his oven rack. Yeah, it is done. I doubt that you'ld cook on a rack that has been powder coated.  :P

Yeah, it'll ruin your oven. A guy I work with has one, go buy a cheap old oven if you can find it, if you want to use it for powdercoating. Otherwise, it cakes on to the heating element and the sides.
I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...

Screw that.  Sign up for Freecycle.  They seem to have appliances come up pretty regularly.  Some of 'em even happen to be ovens!
