Whew!  Glad I didn't pay for VMJ.  The developer doesn't give a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about his customers  He mocks them.  Go ahead and purchase it!  get his sales up to 4% hopefully.  A sucker and his money are soon parted.

Thank god!!!  Does that mean you're done????

Could we be so lucky???

So blessed???

I was actually starting to enjoy getting you all fired up.

Repost/quote me all you want...I never said I wasn't arrogant.  The only reason I am even wasting my time on you in here is because I found a tingle of enjoyment out of it.

Gary, thank you for your support...even if you don't use VMJ anymore.  I do agree that a few pitfalls has left an upleasant taste in people's mouths...especially Drew's (but who know's where else his mouth has been).  VMJ IS where it was intended to be NOW....check it out...since you paid for it...all upgrades are Free..

As of Monday, it will also have Bill validator support for MATRIX brand validators...more validator support to come.

Anyone other than Drew (and scorpio) having a problem with VMJ, please let me know...but I don't anticipate any further problems with the latest releases.

Drew/Scorpio...if you paid...thanks, the beers were great (Cheers!)

CyberPunk, good luck to get it all up again.... That all I can say.

yep, the forum is still dead, but when it dead, should it not removed from the frontpage (until they may get it work again)?

Yes, but the link is there because the forums will be coming back...I want to be sure there is time for the present to catch up to the past (since people like drew/scorpio like to live there).

I just couldn't stomache all the crying about stuff that happened with version X when version x+10 is what's current.

I just didn't want to give some of the whiners in here the satisfaction of knowing that the boards went down because of their immaturity...but I guess they know that now.

One good thing I can say about the new boards when they go up...only registered users will be able to access them...that way, cry babies who gripe and gripe and gripe about somthing in the name of the common good (too cheap to pay for something, but splurge on the insults flaming it)...can stay here with their immaturity and do their flaming from a distance.

As far as my attitude...I'll support the registered users always...unregistered users "have to ask me nicely".

okiee.

This was just about I dosen't like a 404 page. Just notice it when clicking on the forum link, so our users can see, there are some problems with the forum.

I know some features sometimes broke, when adding new feature or fixing a another bug (this is because I cover my own jukebox software), this is happens, while some people use old versions (includning my own)... But I stand your point.

Ok Cyber i will check it out now.....how do we get to it from your site as a registered user....do i need to download the demo and then enter a reg key ?

FYI..... I KNOW I emailed you support problems as you had requested some time back, I DID give them to you in detail with specific errors, YOU DID NOT email me back at all so please do not put everyone in the same basket. There are legitimate users out there that are now feeling somewhat angry because in this thread at least you have called them a LIAR...me included.

Anyhow enough whinging...im going to see if your word has become more reliable.

Ok Cyber...you want specifics here u go.... STILL the same problem I had all that time ago

When I press the Pause key while a song is playing i get the following error

Runtime error

- 2147467259 (800004005)':
Automation error
Unspecified error

VMJ then crashes and quits to desktop

This happens every time , no matter what song and no matter what key i have the pause mapped to

This was on my workstation which is a P4, 2.4 with 1.5GB RAM running XP Pro
I then tested it on my actual  Jukebox which is a  P4 1.8 512MB RAM running XP Pro and gives EXACTLY the same error when pausing

These are the details i sent you way back at the start of V7 as well, I have lodged a support email (as well as a request for a key...i see this system still sux and not automated)

Lets see how long it takes to get a response to see if you are good to your word\

PS.... both systems have had fresh installs of Windows within the last 2 months, so I know its not my software.....My Jukebox in fact only has XP and SK Jukebox on it and now VMJ...nothing else so thats about as clean as it gets

PPS..... having played with it some more....The above problem is the only one which still exists from my list of about 4 problems.... Unfortunatley is still a critical bug so i hope it gets fixed.

Be prepared for the fact that the application won't uninstall itself properly once installed.  Not that anyone would want to uninstall an unsupported product or anything.  ::)

Also the fact that it complains about every instance of art not found via a message box, i had to click through 100's of them before i end tasked the thing, it should really just write these to a log file and give you a summary at the end.

messiah:  I specifically remember your support email.  I have also replied back (which, I'm assuming that you may not have received).  I remember correcting all but the one problem you have listed.  The pause problem was submitted to the software company that wrote the audio engine that we are using NCT.  They have listed this problem as a "bug" within their engine that occurs on very few windows systems.  They never fixed this bug.  The fact that it is happening on 2 of your systems would suggest either there is an extremely remote coincidence...or (hopefully) you are using the same Windows XP Pro installation on both computers.

If any other users are experiencing this (Pause) problem, please let me know.  If this is more than just an isolated issue, we may have to reconsider our choice of audio engines.

Thank you for your reply Cyber....no i didnt get your email, but that happens at times i guess.

I did have a thought however, Both systems are using AC97 audio chipsets with Analog Systems SoundMAX drivers, i wonder if your engine is playing up with these drivers. I have access to a Soundblaster Card which I will install tonight and see if this problem still remains

I have sent you an email via the support page so If you want to reply via email please do so.

I am still a bit dissapointed with the Registration system.....I have paid so why should I wait for you guys to send me a key ???? Didnt you have an auto generated system at one stage ???? Anyhow will see what comes thru in the next day or so

I have the same sound AC97 chipset in my pc which runs VMJ however I also have a sound blaster and my main soundcard on that system which runs without any problems running XP pro so I  would try your other sound card.

I also didn't get a chance to comment on the registration system...we are working on automating the registration system as well.  This should be accomplished in the next couple of weeks.

Well I have just tested the Jukebox with a SB Live card and it made no difference. Still getting the automation error. I have tried everything I can think of but still no joy. I am going to try it on my wifes PC tonight and see how we go. The PC's in question are using 2 seperate installations of XP Pro so i dont think thats the problem.

On a side note...its been nearly 48 hours and I still havent received my reg code or an email back from support. It doesnt look at face value that anything has changed....sorry Cyber but my faith is still lost in your software. Will see how the support goes this week though....I really do like the look and feel of VMJ :(

YES!!!...have just fixed the bug...well not exactly fixed but found out exactly what causes it. Both of my systems have NVidia cards with "Dualview" enabled. When you disable dualview within the Nvidia drivers, the error doesnt happen, as soon as you enable it , the error returns. I have updated the drivers so its not the Nvidia versions

Now to get it working for dualscreen as this is the main reason i wanted VMJ back...so I could use it for my collection of music videos which I can play on my TV hooked up as the second monitor on my Jukebox.

Cyber can you please contact me via email so we can try and work this out

Yes, I will contact you via email.  The reason I have not responded to the support email is because communication regarding this problem was being done in this forum.

Your findings are very interesting, considering tech support for the audio engine considers this a bug.

Well, I think we've discovered a problem that has prevented people from obtaining support or replacement registration keys.  After clicking on the Send Message button on our support site, if you receive this error at the top of the screen...your message never made it to our mail server:

Warning: mail(): Failed to connect to mailserver at "209.115.29.2" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in C:\webhosts-1\virtualmusicjukebox\support\processing_tech_request.php on line 69

Our webhosting company switched mail servers without letting their customers know so.  We are working to correct this ASAP.

If you have RECENTLY not received a response from submitting something on our support page, I apoligize.  During this transition of mail servers, please resubmit your request to the following:

Technical support:
Support@virtualmusicjukebox.com

Registration issues (replacement keys)
registrations@virtualmusicjukebox.com

Well that probably explains it :) glad you worked it out

I have confirmed on both machines now that turning ON dualview in the Nvidia Control Panel gives me the Automation error and turning it off allows you to pause with no error. So I hope that gives you some starting point to solve it Cyber.

I have now sent an email to registrations about my reg code.....do u want me to submit another form to the support email or can u handle it for me ??

Regards

I'll take care of your issue based on what you described in this forum.  Unfortunately, I think this is still in the realm of the audio engine's technical support, but at least now they have more to go on.  I will get back to you when I hear back from support on this.

Thanks

.......  edit

So again, I challenge users to download the latest version of VMJ and report LEGITAMITE PROGRAM BUGS/PROBLEMS...not {He didn't respond to my email, you guy's suck!!}.

In the Library window, VMJ will not detect my albumn covers properly.  It tells me that no cover is found for 90% of my albumns and displays wrong covers for other albumns.  If I select an albumn, then try to select the cover manually (by clicking the button below the preview), VMJ allows me to select the cover (and it displays correctly) but as soon as I move on to the next albumn, if I return to the albumn I just manually selected, wrong/no cover again.  I am running VMJ 6.2 on my dedicated jukebox with no issues.  It finds all my artwork just fine.

Also the fact that it complains about every instance of art not found via a message box, i had to click through 100's of them before i end tasked the thing, it should really just write these to a log file and give you a summary at the end.

Because of my above issue, this is killing me.  I have a few hundred albumns as well and have to click ok on every albumn I have.  Please investigate another way to report this as this window makes library mode almost unusable if you have any sort of picture problem.

I have never installed version 7 on my stand alone jukebox because of uninstallation and upgrade problems.  Twice I upgraded to "fix bugs" and twice I had to redo my jukebox and reinstall 6.2 because it would't work.   For me, "upgrading to the latest version" for a bug fix is not an option until 7.0 and 6.2 can coexist independently of each other.

This has been an issue for me (the pictures) from the get go with version 7.0 (even the beta).  It was posted on the old vmj forums by me and several others in the bug report forum.  I never filled out the "proper" form for support.  I was trying to be patient and not "whine" and assumed that this bug would be fixed because it was not an isolated incident.  My assumption was incorrect.  I will fill out the proper form now and see what happens.

I hope all of these "meets your challenge", as I would really like these fixed.

I have replied to your support request via the VMJ website.

Our web hosting provider has resolved all email server issues.

Let me know if the solution I have provided does not correct the problem.  I will also remove the message box regarding "album covers not found".

Ray,

I apoligize for the inconvenience.  We were still experiencing problems with our PHP support page even after the mail server switch.  I have personally changed this page to an ASP page that bypasses the mailserver and sends the support issue directly to me.

Please try again or contact me directly to resolve your issue:
