Interesting coin mech on Ebay
« on: December 15, 2005, 12:19:18 pm »
I've just come across a very interesting type of coin mech on Ebay.

Ebay link

http://www.weavefuture.com/

Externally they look similar to the ones sold by Ultimarc (they may even by made by the same company) but these ones can be programmed to accept up to 5 different types of coin from any currency! They're a bit expensive but they look ideal for MAME use. There are even instructions on the seller's site explaining how to connect them to an Ipac.

It actually looks like it can accept FIFTY different coins!!!   Day-um!

Code: [Select]
It designed to set 5 different output value groups at the same time; every output value set can program 10 types coins.

Different output values mean number of output pulse.

From the instructions on how to set up one of the five available "group values"

Code: [Select]
Deposit the coins in turn. you can program up to 10 coins.  If less than 10 coins can add and store later.
For example you can prepare 10 quarters as diffferent condition as possible.  Or you can deposit 10 same or
different tokens.

That coin chute is nothing new. It's the typical programmable "roll down" coin mech (a.k.a. coin selector in Japan & China) available from many suppliers in China, Japan, and Korea.

looks the same as the WEI-YA mechs that Ultimarc sell. Which work very well with BYOAC tokens  ;)
Just fit the type of coin you want to use in the back of the mech and it compares the ones going in. That's if it is the comparative type.

No these are more sophisticated than the Ultimarc mechs. These ones can be programmed to accept several different types of coin and will emit the appropriate number of pulses for each coin type.

It looks like www.coinopexpress.com also sell them.
