back button no worky - most of the time
« on: December 12, 2005, 03:43:57 pm »
using Firefox 1.0 on win2k.

as I'm browsing the Forums, if I press the back button in the browser, it rarely takes me back.  Usually I stay at the page I'm looking at.  This is particularly inconvenient when I'd like to get back to search results.

Thanks for any tips,
Rock

Rock,

This is a tradeoff we had to make to ensure full compatibility with browsers and to be respective on our users bandwidth. What I suggest is with any search results you get, have the link provided there open in another tab/window instead of the existing window.

Hmmm... well in the meantime I have done something that seems to work.  I used to go to arcadecontrols.com - when I go straight to forum.arcadecontrols.com in Firefox (i.e. no black menu bar on the side), this seems to help.  That way forum.arcadecontrols.com is loaded at the top and not within an HTML frame.

Thanks,
Rock
