.187 Quick Disconnects Question
« on: December 10, 2005, 07:47:48 pm »
Hey Guys, time for the uber newb of the year question.

How the hell do you use .187 Quick Disconnects?

As in, you cut the wire, do you just slide it in and then clamp the middle and end with pliers to tighten it? Cause i can get the wire in, but i cant close it to keep the wire stuck there..

this is embarassing, but can someone give me some help!  :'(

So i should use the crimper to 'smush' the QD to close in on the wire?

gotta love my smush language.

Yeah, in the middle of the QD. Don't flatten it, kinda "cut" it till the QD holds...

I jus tried it, it it cuts through the plastic and almost goes right through the metal piece.

the simple things always go wrong with me!

Depends how strong you are. Can you take a picure and upload what you're using to crimp? Shouldn't be that hard! Squeeze until the QD holds, not much more I can tell ya Scott...

I cant take a picture.

When your squeezing the center of the QD its plastic-y and the end where the wire goes in makes the hole bigger and looser.

I need a tutorial of someone doing it in person or in a video.

Its alright, thanks for your help. i appreciate it.
