What about these guns
« on: April 20, 2002, 05:13:47 pm »
Has anyone heard anything about either of these guns
http://www.lik-sang.com/catalog/product_info.php?category=54&products_id=1439& or

At least one other Hong Kong company carries them but I can't find any U.S. based distributors.  I like the styling on these 2  better than the ray-gun look of the Act Labs guns.

I can vouch for Lik-Sang's reliable console products (incl. light guns), but I've never gotten any PC controllers from them.. it's a product of HK (and well.. it's USB :P), so be wary -- it's a crap shoot.

Also, avoid the serial/PS2 version.. the Act-Labs guns used a gameport connection which was sluggish at best.

Post a review if you get one, I want to know how accurate it is in MAME (if compatible).  If only someone would hack a GunCon2 with a VGA pass-thru and write some PC drivers. -_-

..and only $20.. I think I may just order one and take my chances at that price.. look like they would fit nicely in Happ holsters as well :P~

I got the pc virtual gun from liksang and it didn't do jack.  It's sitting at the bottom of my closet right now.  I ordered the old act labs guns and they worked awsome for the windows based games that came with it, but not at all in mame.  They've been working with mame developers for the new guns though, and they should work.  You can try what I'm going to try.  I'm going to buy new gun cases from happs and hopefully the pcb from the new act labs guns will fit inside the happs cases.
