Locking Sniper Gun
« on: December 08, 2005, 07:40:46 pm »
I'm working on adding a Terminator II type positional gun to my cab and I want the gun to be able to separate from the positional base.  The gears, axes and pots will be in the base.  The gun will contain just the switches and force feedback.  The gun needs to be able to snap into the base and lock.  Also the gun must be able to quickly be released from the base.  I am envisioning the feel of a sniper rifle that you can quickly assemble and disassemble.  One idea I had was to mount a quick remove camera tripod base to the gun.
Anyone have any other suggestions on locking couplings or fasteners?
