2 questions (cabinet power & gun hacking)
« on: January 30, 2003, 07:09:24 am »
I'm working on my control panels and just realized I didn't order any momentary contact PBs for power/reset on my cab.. in the end, I decided to go minimalist (a power button for the cab and a dedicated shift button for all functions) but.. can I use a regular horizontal microswitch PB for this?

Also, did anyone ever try hacking the innards of a Act-Labs gun into a realistic arcade/console gun shell (like GunCon)?  I dunno about disassembling a GunCon of mine (even though I have like 4  :P) or killing a USB gun, but if no one else has I'll try with a NES Zapper and my old gameport gun.

A horizontal pushbutton is indeed just like any other momentary contact PB... or you can go to Radio Shack or any other electronic parts store and pick up a momentary contact pushbutton if you don't want to waste an arcade button.  A doorbell button from Home Depot will even work....
