I built a bar once and used that on it. It does look very good, especially when used on good wood. The only problem with it is that when it cracks, it tends to "spider-web". The bar I built was in the basement of our fraternity house, so after a few kegs get thrown on it (amongst other things!), it kinda got chipped up. However, it lasted longer than anything else I can think of.
The point of the story is that you would probably have to drill all the holes first, and then somehow try to keep the epoxy from running into them while it cures.
