PS2 JPAC Issues
« on: December 04, 2005, 06:20:13 pm »
I'm having an issue with my JPAC. Not sure if anyone is able to help.

My cabinet is a Mortal Kombat 1 cabinet, that I believe is Jamma+. When I plug in the JPAC the following works.

L Joystick
L Button 1
L Start

R Joystick
R Button 1
R Start

Coin Slot

Anyways, thats all okay, so I solder up a wiring harness and solder it from the buttons to the jpac. Now I can access all the buttons on player 1. Everything is working great.

Anyways, I wired up the wiring harness for player 2 and now when I boot the computer I cannot access anything. The other weird issue is that when I connect the JAMMA harness back to my MK3 board, the block button is continuously on. As soon as I turn the PC on, the block button turns off.

Anyone come across this before? Any advice?

Make sure the buttons are wired to NO, not NC.

How should I do that?

All the buttons are wired already, with the buttons that don't work, I've put a wire from BUTTON5 on the jpac, and soldered it to the button (not ground) on the CP. Do I also need to solder a wire from the GROUND on the JPAC to one of the buttons on the CPO?
