Clear Buttons - RGB LEDs?
« on: December 04, 2005, 11:20:18 am »
Does anyone know where I can get clear buttons (microswitch or leaf)? I'm not refering to the colored translucent buttons, just the completely clear ones. I'd like to play around with them and some RGB LEDs. I know fxbuttons carries them but according to their site, they never appear to be in stock.

I had been waiting for red ones to get back in stock, and on Friday he emailed me saying they were in the mail, so you may want to shoot him an email.  That is your only option I believe outside of leafswitches.

I'm perfectly fine with leafswitches too. You know where I can get those in clear? Wico doesn't carry them. Thanks!

Ponyboy carries the clear microswitch buttons.
I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

Please read the wiki!

Email fxbuttons, last time I did they said that they actually had them in stock. I ended up getting them from ponyboy though, since I was ordering a few other things.

Thanks for the input. Ponyboy has exactly what I need.

Has anyone tried to illuminate these before? I know the Neon MAME uses the blue translucent Wico leaf switch buttons but I'd really like to try clear buttons with RGB leds. Anyone pulled this off? Do these illuminate well? Thanks!

Yes, many people. Do a search for "translucent buttons" in the main forum and you will find tons of posts.

Take a look in the later pages of this thread for pictures of some of the colored ones being lit:

I know how the colored ones look, just interested in the clear ones. Thanks for that post, it had a couple pics with the clear ones. I'll probably have to sandblast the button to diffuse it a bit, but I'm sure it will be fine.

I'm looking to set it up so that the buttons illuminate differently with the game. The LED Wiz seems custom-tailored for this :)

Thanks!

I tried sandblasting a button and it didn't work out so well.  Check out this thread:
