ElectoHome G07

I'm picking up a Ms. PacMan cocktail table from a fellow board member tonite and he said in his post that the game was somewhat working    Not sure what that means, but the price is right FREE.  From what I found on KLOV, this has the  Electrohome G07 monitor in it.  I'm pretty positive it will need a cap kit.  I've never done a cap kit and was wondering the difficulty in doing one.  I'm very good with a iron since I have worked with small electronics for about 9 yrs.  Also, I have been reading endlessly about discharging the monitor, does this even have a auto discharge on it ( I know that even fails sometimes, so I will discharge anyway.  When I do order the cap kit, should I order anything else monitor related, if I'm going to have apart, would like to do eveything.

Google around for the capkit instructions. Buy your capkit from Zanen Electronics and a new flyback transformer for it from them too.

This monitor will hold a charge for a month so be sure to discharge it carefully (with the power OFF of course).

I did a cap kit on my WG 4616 without ever powering it on, to avoid any possibility of dangerous capacitor discharge.

Well, got it home last nite pretty late, plugged it in and nothing happened.  I was really tired and I couldn't even locate the power swith.  I did find the interlock on it though.  I'm sure I'll find the swith tonite.  I did see see a lable on the tube marked G2, guessing this is the model number but the chassis may be different.  Once I get this powered up, I'll probably change it to solid state isolation transformer.....any links please, this is really the first restore job I'm doing on a machine that isn't working.  Also this may be a Ms Pacman in a PacMan cab.  I'll post some pics tonite.

The power switch is located under the table near the fan. It is a pushbutton switch recessed in a hole.

As of last nite, that was the last place I would have looked at.  Does that model number sound familiar to you as far as the monitor is concerned ?  G2

G2 means nothing to me. It's probably some inspection number.

Rememer that Midway coctail cabinets have latches to unfold the cabinet for servicing. Open the coin door (with power off of course) and reach towards the top of the cabinet and you'll feel a couple of flip-release latches. One on the left and one on the right slightly.

Once you flip the cabinet open you'll have plenty of access to everything and be able to get the monitor model number from the chassis.

Could be, that number was just on the tube.  I had the machine opened last nite I was just doing some poking around.  I looked briefly for the the model number of the monitor, but I was tired so I probably just didn't notice it.  From what I gather, it will most likely be the electrohome G07-CBO I believe

If it's that monitor, good luck with it.  I've got one, and it's just not co-operating very well.  I expect I just got a tempermental one, as Ken mentioned in my thread that they are an good monitor.

Cap kit is easy to do in it.  If you look at my thread (probably at the bottom of the 1st page by now), you should get an idea of what to look for. (I changed quite a few things in mine as suggested by Ken)

I've been following your thread and it scares me     You've dam near built a whole new monitor, I hope I don't have to deal with your same problems.  I'm sure I'll pick Ken's brain to death over the coming weeks.
