okay first things first,ya know how these wiring goes right?
I know yours works perfect 100% because i rememeber doin yours VERY carefully...(its been what over 4 months?)
You cant have i-pac and psx wire all at the same time.
Here is what you do to see if my gamepad hack works.
First you take a micro switch.you will see there is a wire labeled "GROUND" from the hacked pad.
Hook that wire to your ground contact in your microswitch then you have the contact you where you hooked your i-pacs inputs.
NOW,wire each of the wires to to test and see if "EVERYSINGLE" inputs from my hack works or not.

Either test on your psx or if you have a converter then test it on your PC.I already know everything works..
also tell me what exactly are you trying to do?
You are trying to have I-pac and psx spliced alltogether?
the "UNUSED" contact has no functions so thats nothing..
I dont know if i am explaining right but you get the picture ;).

PS:
Hmm, big surprise Snaaacks pad hack didn't work. Snaaack is probably the only one that can help you since he knows how he wired it.
Why are you posting all the "EXTRA" crap all the time..you want a bigger # in that places where it says how many post?Who really cares:P.Only post if you have anything related to demonseed's problem or "ANYTHING" related to this post.No I didnt screw him with a $2 hacked pad(why should I).

Hey
I am not saying it doesnt work.. eheh I hooked in ground wire to my CP ground and I tap the button wires onto the contacts they work. I want to hook it up to my current control panel so i guess share it. I do not see why it wont. I am confused though a button has 3 contacts. one is used for ground and the second one i have the wires for the CP and then into ipac... whats the 3rd for? I tried to use them for the psx adapter. up/down works but left right jump....i remember i did this before with the cp and i forget how to fix.. how the heck can i wire it into the current cp? I do know it works its the wiring i am unclear on. If possible snake maybe icq me or email me?? we could talk. 25837039 is my icq

thanks

L2 wire is the RED one..It cant fall off because i didnt even solder it..I just cut the wire from L2 button and made an extra long wire.I cant stop lauging when i see people soldring on L1,L2,R1,R2 contact(ya dont have to)

Only solid way i know about adding 2 interface is too get  db25 M/F cable and do it?(this idea is REALLY complicated)

Do ya get the picture?
its really hard to put it in words..about how its done. :(

Best way is that you wire you CP with psx hack and get psx to usb converter then get rid of the i-pac.

Hi,
I connected all the buttons on the PSX pad to the CP via the last connector on the buttons all buttons work on the CP BUT, it keeps flashing back and forth over buttons non stop.. so i think u have to use the same connectors?

Hi Demon-Seed:

each button... (the microswitch...) has 3 metal connections... right ??....

1 is called ground....
1 is called NO (normal open)
1 is called NC (normal close)
normal open is when button is not pushed, the wire is "open" - no electricity, when button is pushed, the wire will be connected (closed)....
and normal close is the reverse....

usually... we use the NO and the ground, but do not use the NC conntection....

is that what you're referring to ??

if you want to hook the control panel to IPAC and Snaaake's pad hack in parallel....

then you'll need to connect the ground together.. and
both the other end will be connected to NO.... and still nothing is connected to the NC....

BUT !!!! NOTE !!!.... I CANNOT GUARANTEE IF THIS WILL WORK....

I don't think it'll short things out.... (this means BAD....)
but I cannot guarantee it will not either....

so... try your luck....

hope it helps...

Hey,

I tried the NC and it works then stops, I recall I did the same when I ran the cab in mame.. so it does not work like you said.

Where the NO is, i tried running 2 wires to the NO plug like a splice.. 1 from PSX one from IPAC and it did not work. Now you said Parallel? how is that? how do these guys run a PSX controller with a DC and Mame cabinet etc?? I just do not understand... why it wont work? are there any sites or directions around?

Thanks
JIM

most of us uses "CONVERTERS"

Like you hack a psx pad then use "PSX to dreamcast" and "PSX to USB(mame)" converter.

You could easyly do it but i dont think i can explain how(i am pretty sure).

Anyone else know what i am talkin about?PLEASE be kind enough to post so demonseed could get a clue(explain better).

Like first interface your joystick with a FEMALE db25 pin cable then make interfaces for every single systems using MALE db25 pin cable and switch between every system(molex connecter also works).
ya get the pictures?(sounds confusing but do ya? :-\)

Hi,
Ok I have the psx pad, and the convetor to plug into dc already. Got that part :).. not how do i take the bare wires from the psx hack and to into my CP that already has wires connected from the Ipac? this is where I am confused. Cause you can not splice em. I tired. As for a Db25 that is serial connector or some sort.. I understand you would use a switch or something.. but hoe do i get from PSX hack to db 25 and  my Control Panel to it??? confused as hell. I am sorry be patient with me :)

Snake,
I can see what your saying about the inteface. I just do not see why I can not use the Ipac and the psx hack together? There has to be someone around who has had succes.

not to be rude... but demonseed... I really think you should stop trying to hook it up for a moment.... step back... take a deep breath... and read some of the sample sites.....

there are quite a few sites that explain very clearly what to connect / where to connect and so on.....

try to just connect psx to the cp.... (forget about ipac / dc... for now) and get that part working before worrying about hooking up other things.....

my impression is you're hurrying it too much.. trying to stuff too much info down your throat and just get want to get this done and start playing...  I know how you feel.... but you need to take it slowly and do more reading...

keep trial and error is a way to learn... but if you're unlucky... you might short and burn something.....
so, plz be careful.....

good luck...

Hi,
Yea thanks for the info, I did stop last night. The thing is the IPAC and CP has been hooked up and working so I do not want to intrrupt it! EHEH So mame, and PC stuff works. I want to add the DC now. I was able to test the buttons/wires of the PSX pad and they work. As for sites like you suggested, all I was able to find is how to hack a psx pad.. I have gotten that far. Its just hooking it up to work with the current set up that I do not understand. In the meantime I have not touched it or played with it, cause as you said I could do more harm than good. I have been posting msgs on several boards, and emailed many ppl who make the psx hacks but no one has been helping me too much. Maybe they are busy? I do not know, hopefully if I keep searching I will find the answer I need, but in the meantime I am not touching it until I am 100% sure what I need to do, and right now I am not sure.

So if anyone out there has done it successfully please email me so we can talk about it. Ideally it would be nice to chat on ICQ or something and then you guys will no longer have to read about my problems, because I know newbies like myself who have limited knowledge can be very annoying.  ;)

I wasn't being funny, I was quoting Microsofts specifications.
You shouldn't even quote anyone ever.
Quoting should have cleared any confusion as to what I was responding to, not caused it.

I need a timeout? Can I go to my room and take a nap? When I was little that was punishment, now its a treat.
