Seems like the image would be too much of a bug eye effect.  I'll probably puke after a few minutes on it.

Is the inside surface of the dish actually the display device, or is it a reflective screen onto which the image is projected from the inside?

Eric.

The one I saw was rear projection. Shot from the other side.

That would be true if a regular un-modified game were displayed. You have to have the game render out in a way that compensates for the curved display. Then it will look "normal" (but surrounding you) when viewed in that dish display.

Maybe.  I would like to think the device itself would adjust the 'square' video input as neccessary for it to be seen correctly.

Looks crap anyway, might as well stick a poster onto satellite dish and sit looking at it  :P

hehe, I clicked on this topic hoping it was going to be *my* ultimate monitor.

A 19" multisync arcade monitor that looks great with both raster games *and* vector games.

Oh well, this one is cool I guess.    ;)

I used to have one at work :)

It is pretty cool, but in reality, only a small number of games actually work well in it.  2D games are unplayable and the effect only works if you are sitting in the sweet spot.

For the right game with the right sound etc. it is cool, but games like pac man or street fighter suck on it.
