Mamewah 1.61 .....5 sec music delay
« on: November 24, 2005, 03:00:03 pm »
Hello:

Just beginning to use mamewah, felt I better get 1.61 down before even trying the new beta.  Anyway, I 'm havig a problem w/ the mp3s.  Once mamewah starts it begins playing from the directory I listed randomly (whch is normal), but If I switch to another platform, it continues playing the same song for only 5 seconds, then it switches to a random track.

Seems like there's always a 5 sec delay.  Is there a way to let mamewah continue to play the random track it initially started when mamewah opened.  And if there isn't can you shorten the delay to say 1 sec or less when you jump to diff platforms?   ???

Last, can you assign different music directories for each emu/platform?  Been using "mamewah config".  Thanks for your help.

Sounds like you are using emulator-specific music - this is normal.  If you don't want the track to change use the music_path option in mamewah.ini and clear the setting in your emuname.ini files.

I have removed the delay altogether in the latest beta build.

Yes, see my first answer above (do the opposite).

Minwah:

Thanks for taking the time to help a noob.  Been out of the mame/rom/emul loop for the last 7 years.  Its changed alot.  You have a fantastic frontend program.  Really appreciate the time and effort you put into it.

Do you know if your latest beta pauses the music (mp3 files) when the screensavers (.scr) are launched within the mamewha menu? 1.61 plays the screensaver while the music keeps playing.  Thanks agian.

Yes you can do that...the screensaver settings have changed a little bit tho.  Now you need to use something like this:

saver_type saver_commandline
saver_commandline c:\saver\saver.scr /s{nomusic}
