Alt keys not working

I got an older p-3 laptop I've been messing with and the alt keys are not working. The laptop is a KDS Valiant 671DP anybody have any ideas why they may not be working? could they be disabled somehow or something?

unfortunately I have no drivers or recovery disk for this thing so I can't format ant re-install everything. I'm also having a difficult time finding drivers for it..
