http://www.smartxx.com/news.php

Its somewhere in the forums somewhere if i remember right..

Ah ha.  Well, then, I'll just head over there and read every thread in every forum until I find it.

There will, of course, be modchips.  And I could even be wrong.  I know that SmartXX was in possession of some stolen Xbox360 development kits for quite a while a few months back, so maybe they've got a head start.  But it seems to early to me, and make no mistake, if SmartXX already had a chip in production the loudmouth of the universe Franz would have made an announcement about it.  It wouldn't be hiding in a post on a forum.

As Sir Poonga pointed out. The earlier gen models are gonna be the ones to own when hacks start making their way out.

Not exactly worth an extra $200, though.

Some of you people are funny.

Why ever buy anything new? As long as you wait 5 years you will always get it cheaper. ::)

I feel sorry for all those people that bought digital surround sound 8 years ago for $1000. They may have been enjoying awesome surround sound in their movies for 8 years more than me, but I only had to pay $150.

What is even funnier is all those people that wasted money on color tv's. Shoot... I'm still watching my black and white, and it is a good thing too. Just imagine if I would have wasted money on a color tv, when they are just being replaced with hi-def. Speaking of hi-def... Why bother with that one? I can still see pictures on my tv, and we all know that 3D holographic is the future. ::)

Given the location of these boards, such is to be expected, but there are many among us that suffer greatly for good-old-day-itis.

Why waste money on something new, when all they make is crap, because all the good stuff was made years ago...

NOT!!!

$200 extra is an exaggeration to begin with, but rolling along those lines anyway... It is worth it for getting to experience the new stuff when it is new. The likelihood of easier modding is just an added benefit included with everything else in the early adopter cost.

i think people that complain about upgrading PCs for gaming have never actually done it so they dont know what theyre talking about. These days processors over 2ghz are dirt cheap, so are mobos, and thats all you really need for any game. the only thing that matters is RAM and the video card. if you buy a generation under the newsest, but the best model, you will be able to use that card for about 2 years at least. ive been playing the newest PC games forever, my upgrades went like this

1.8ghz p4
geforce 4 4600ti
512MB RAM

i had that computer for a good 3years at least, at the end of the 3rd year yeah it was getting kinda lame but that was pushing it. about 7 months ago i got

3.2ghz athlon 3200 64 bit
geforce 6800 GT
1GB RAM dual channel

this runs every game out if not top notch, almost top notch, and you barely notice the difference. either way it plays everything and will for over another year. so yeah its a little more expensive than consoles, but they do more than play games obviously
