Plus, you like wasting 2x or 3x as much money keeping your computer
'up to date' to play all the latest games?
If you are willing to 'beef' up your PC for a couple years with a top
of the line video card, you are still spending more than a XBOX system.
That's why I have been moving more to consoles for game. It's expensive to keep a computer up to date in order to play the latest and greatest game. The only games I really play on a PC now are games that suck on consoles - like FPS, flight sims, RTS, etc... Any thing good in those genres came out a long time again. I haven't seen anything new that is good for any of those (except FPS).
I've got to go w/ the SirP on this one. This is the EXACT reason why I no longer use my computer for games. If I use my computer only for Internet/Word Processing/Software development I only have to upgrade it every couple of years to get full use out of it. If I use it for games, and I want to play the game the way it was meant to be played with full graphical effects, I'd have to spend HUNDREDS every few months. Sure you can play it with dumbed down graphics, but what's the point.
Instead, I make the decision to once every 5 years or so buy the newest console. I spend $300-$400, and I'm damn sure that My game looks JUST AS GOOD as it does on anyone elses xbox 360. I don't have to be an elitest hardware snob to see it in all its glory.
And all console games don't come out for PC. And even if they do, I'd still rather play a game, with friends, on a couch with everyone sitting around and easily taking turns. PC Games are great when you're playing BY YOURSELF, but if you have friends who visit at all, it's so much better to have a console.
Those are my reasons at least.
