DDR: Mario Mix
« on: November 16, 2005, 04:58:16 pm »
I just picked this up for the Gamecube the other day, and I gotta say, I love it!  :)  I'm a n00b at DDR, not for lack of a machine to play on, we have a new one at the student center at my school, but I've always been afraid of looking like an idiot in front of all the experienced players that are ALWAYS there.  So anyway, now I can play in the privacy of my own home, hehe.

Anyone else have this?  It's got some catchy remixes of classic Mario tunes as well as some other songs.  Plus there are some mini-games you can play that are pretty fun, like whack-a-goomba.

My brother picked this up for his GameCube cab. He says it's pretty fun, but it's alot of nintendo titles and not much of anything else.

DDR is great at home if you're worried about looking like an idiot.

I have 3 or 4 games for PS2 and 2 pads and my girlfriend and I play a lot.  It's a ton of fun, and if you have any amount of rhythm you can pick it up fairly easily, at least so that you can have some fun working through a few beginner songs.

If you actually want to become good though, skip Beginner entirely, its a waste of your time.  Start with Standard and struggle with the songs... but you'll get better MUCH faster.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

DDR Rocks, I've got a couple of games myself. Some of the games that I own have a tutorial which is very good to get a start, they show you the correct feet position with some moves.

do they have nintendo game songs like from mario nes or zelda?
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

I picked up DDR:MM and its one of the few games that my wife will play with me. We have a lot of fun stompin the Goombas. Sorry SithMaster, they are only songs from Mario titles, but they range from Super Mario songs, to Dr. Mario and everything in between. There are also some strange remixes of classical songs. Overall I give the game a big thumbs up for getting non-game playing people involved, and for just being fun.
