IPAC + NESter
« on: January 24, 2003, 01:32:14 pm »
Not really a MAME question BUT:

My CP works perfectly for MAME, but I seem to have isssues eith the NES emulator NESter which are very similiar to problems with a keyboard hack: multiple keypresses seem to block each other. However the keyboard works just fine. (BTW Keyboard connects via PS/2, IPAC through USB).

Could it be the repeat rate of thr IPAC? Is it adjustable?

Any other Ideas?

Thanks!

What seems to happen in the games?

IPAC has no repeat rate.

Ipac does repeat when plugged in via USB. Is it a bug or a feature, that I do not know...

Peeper have you tried the ipac plugged in via ps/2 then use the passthrough on the ipac for your keyboard?

No I haven't tried it via the PS/2 port yet. My MAME PC is my desktop PC and my kb cable is not quite long enough to make it back from the cab to my desk.

However, I *think* I tried using the PS/2 Interface waaaay back when and whenever I hit a button on the CP, by PC (WinXP would reboot).

As to what exact problem I'm experienceing: SMB3 you use one button to run, one button to jump, and the joystick to control direction. At irregular, but frequent intervals, one of these funvtions won't work.

For example, I'll be running right, and the jump button doesn't work.  Or, I'll be running while still having the jump button pressed, and  I still can't change direction.

Thanks for the info. so far
