« on: November 12, 2005, 01:17:48 am »
So I bought all of this stuff months and months ago and stepped away and have now forgotten how the hell all of this goes together....

CW1 and CCW1 are:  Clockwise 1 and Counter Clockwise 1.  These are the inputs that make the player 1 sprite turn left and right.  You hook these up to any two inputs on the GP-Wiz 49 and then map them in MAME.

Go  back and look in the GP-Wiz 49 thread (I think about page 7) for the diagram on how the joystick is connected to the GP-Wiz 49.  There is a specific pinout.  I don't think it's just 1-8 on the joystick goes to 1-8 on the GP-Wiz.

I'm not at my CP at the moment so I can't look at it, but I hope this at least gets you on the right track.

Thanks Mark, I did figure out what they meant, and I looked through the MAME config but did not find any mapping for them at all.  I am using version .81 for my setup, did the CW, CCW setting not come in until a later version?

The diagram you reference did come with the purchase of my GP-Wiz49, and it does show all the key numbers, it doesn't really reference which ones would go to the default CW, CCw, etc.

Like I say, I think I am just missing something basic and the light isn't turning on in my head.

Thanks,

Marty

Thanks Tiger-Heli,  I went through the config with both Analog Plus (.90u1) and the latest MAME (.101) and they are they same for the Dial Settings...

They show:
Dial Analog   Mouse 1 X
Dial Dec        Left Arrow
Dial Inc         Right Arrow
Dial V Analog   Mouse 1 Y
Dial V Dec        Left Arrow
Dial V Inc         Right Arrow

In what you listed, would it make sense they match up with Dial Analog and Dial V Analog?

Anyone with this hardware, I'd love to hear how you have it set up.

Thanks again,

Marty

Dial DEC and Dial INC are what you map to the two joypad button inputs to to turn left and right.  You also need to go to analog controls and change the sensitivity to like 2-4%.

Do you have it up and running yet?

Great Mark, no, not yet, but I will try that and let you know when I get it running.  I am going to build up my cardboard mock-up layout in the next day or so.

Again, thanks for the help guys...
