jamma mono to stereo
« on: November 08, 2005, 05:41:55 am »
I have a creative Inspire 2.1 speakerset plus subwoofer in my cab which sounds really nice. Audio coming from PC, Atomiswave or any other stereo source is hooked up with a headphone plug. When I made the cable for the AW I nearly blew everything by putting the negative speaker-cables together :/
So, when I need to catch the audio coming from the jamma harness and turn it into pseudo-stereo, meaning sound from L and R speaker is the same, what should I do ?
There are 3 connectors on a headphone-jack, one L, one R and one being Ground. Can I connect the jamma-audio from pin 10 (parts and solder side) to do this ?  Is it okay to wire the audio-out to Left and Right input at the same time ?
Any help is much appreciated - thanks !

Yes that's OK.  Take the mono output and wire it to both the L and R pins of your audio jack.  Then obviously connect the mono ground to the ground connector on the jack.  It just sends the same signal to both left & right.
