I've seen a old thread on this but didn't find it.

I have the Ultimarc J-Stik ball top.  I have the problem of it coming loose after some game play.  What can I put on them to not come loose during normal game play but only when I need to later on?

Put some silicone on the threads and then screw your ball back on. (Yes, groan)

I use the RTV black for car gaskets. It's great for keeping threaded things together, but still allowing you to disassemble later.

Use Loctite 222 thread locker (222 is low strength). They will not come undone again under game conditions but can still be removed with normal tools if required.

Seriously though, head to your local auto parts store and pick up a $3 tube of epoxy putty (it may be labeled as 'Gas Tank Repair Putty'). It smells like burning hair, but it cures in 5 minutes, fully cures in an hour, and dries rock hard. Stick some on the threads, screw the balltop onto the shaft, and wipe off the excess putty. It'll never come off again, though, so make sure that you really want it to stay.

Sounds stupid, but I just used some of my kids white elmer glue.  Just a little bit kept it on and was real easy to break the bond a few months later when I built a new control panel.
