Display Settings..
« on: January 22, 2003, 12:05:16 pm »
I was wondering what display settings are nominal in mame and/or windows for output to a standard TV?  What settings are everyone using?

Also, i've noticed a difference in tv out image quality going from a voodoo3 to a geforce3...  Is there any particular card that is known for is tv out image quality?

 :o

I think the ati cards are better for output to a tv when using mame (according to other post I've seen).  Since I don't have one (YET ;) ), someone else that has one would be a better source of info.

I liek the ATI radeons for TV-out. Ive got a 7500AIW, and I don't know if it's the card itself or the TV or mystical alignment of the forces, but it looks real nice for videos, 3d, games and mame. It's a little fuzzy for regular windows but I usually leave it at 1024x768 so that's gonna happen

I also have a voodoo3 with tv-out that is OK and works in a pinch

almost any ATI will have great tv out.  It is because ATI started out as a good business card.  When nVidia and 3DFX were battling it out as top 3D card ATI was making solid business cards.  And in business you need good tv out for presentations.

Guess that makes sense..
