Seeking advice on pedals

I am working on an upright cab and would like to add 2 steering wheels and 2 sets of pedals.

Before I ask my questions, here are my findings/assumptions:
(1) There are 2 types of pedals - analog and microswitch

(2) The analog pedals use POTS (with varying capacitors), need an analog board like the A-PAC, and allow for pressure sensitive control (ie, press all the way down = 100% acceleration, half way down = 50%)

(3) The microswitch pedals use cherry switches (like my t-sticks), can use any encoder (ie, GPWIz, MiniPac, etc) and allow for ON/OFF control (ie, gas is on or off only)

(4) Using http://fe.donkeyfly.com/controls/gamesbycontrol.php (thanks SirP / HC), I found the following:

• 29 that use microswitch pedals
• 22 that use analog pedals
• 8 that use a second analog pedal

Questions:
(1) Can one type of pedal support both types of control modes?

um, i was always under the understanding that you could use analog pedals as microswitch pedals.  instead of registering how far you went, they just registered that you went somewhere.  get it?

you'll have to wait till a smarter guy like urebel comes along to tell you how to set this up though, cause i'm not that far yet with my analog pedals.  good luck.

Analog will do both.  You can tell mame to press 'acc' when its pressed all the way down.


As for one or two... really depends on what your doing and what games you care about.  Not a big deal for many of my favorite multi car drivers (csprint)... And then you have two there for when you play PC driving games... might not be a bad combo.
