Star Wars Yoke Rebuild

Greetings all,

I recently got lucky at an arcade auction when I bought a box full of used parts for $10.00 including three trigger joysticks and "most" of a Star Wars yoke.

i'd love to know how the company is if you order.  i've got a yoke that's missing a gear, but it's the other small gear that comes in aluminum.

on second thought, i should check and give you a bit more input.

sorry about resurecting this thread, i'm just getting around to replacing my gear and wanted to see if anyone has actually bought this part.  kinda wish this guy had posted back with some info...

sorry for not posting...

not much new info.   I did make contact with WM Berg and found that I could order the gear at any point, so it wasn't a big rush to get done.   This past weekend, I was moving equipment around and came across the disassembled yoke and remembered needing to order the gear.

I'll let everyone know once I get around to doing it.  Sorry.

Hey there.  I've actually purchased and used the small aluminum gear from WMBerg.  It is a perfect fit.  The yoke turns nice and smooth.  I am a bit concerned that the aluminum gear may eventually wear on the plastic gear, but so far, I have no evidence of this. 

The only issue I had with WMBerg is the shipping/handling charge!  I thought it was a bit excessive for the size of the gear.

which direction was yours for and which gear was it from wmberg?  i can't really remember which one mine is since the yoke that's broken is in my closet, but i know i need one.  i just wish the info available was laid out straight instead of listing 2 different gears.  the rgvac thread i found didn't even list an axes, although we're all probably breaking the same one.

Well, there is only one *really* small gear in a star wars yoke, and it is for the y axis.  That is the one I replaced with an aluminum gear.  The two gears for the X axis in the back are considerably larger.  The gear I am talking about is the one that envelops the potentiometer shaft inside the front panel of the yoke.   

I ordered my gear based on the info supplied in the rgvac note.  That small gear on the Y axis (inside the front cover) is the one prone to breakage.
