Hello Chaps...
This is my first post on here. I know "Sir Randy of Keywiz" reads these forums and posts quite often. So I just thought I post a public Thank You!
I bought a Keywiz Eco last week and I just can't fault it! Fabulous little key encoder. I just don't know how he does it for the money. Great value.
I've done some bench testing so far, and the response from it is astoundingly good...
I'm building my first machine and I tried a couple of other encoders, that I borrowed from a friend and to be honest wasn't impressed with the way they work. I won't mention which ones, because that would be unfair to the makers of them, who I'm sure are trying their best to get it right.
My recommendation is go for the Keywiz every time.... more inputs, less hassle, small footprint, easy keyset switching without mucking around with jumpers....
If you do buy the eco version, then Randy does a no solder version that has an IDE drive cable headder on it (although for some reason its not mentioned on his web site) For a couple of extra dollars its worth its weight in gold just plug an old hard drive lead onto it and wire your buttons to the other end of the strands!! Tons of time saved.
I know that this sounds like an advert for Keywiz... sorry, but I can't fault the product, just like I said, I have no idea how he does it for the price. Astounding!!
Best Regards,
Julian (Fozzy The Bear)
