Jamma help
« on: October 29, 2005, 01:11:07 pm »
Hello all,

I have a non Jamma Ms Pacman that I would like to play other games on.  Games like Galaga and Donkey Kong.  Is this possible and if so what do I need?  Are there adapters to do this.  Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rick

will be more easy to have a jamma cab and do some connection to play other games but it is not that convinient to go the other way.

now you can buy some finger board and build a bridge between your actual mrs pacman connections and othe pcb...

just make you know what you're doing...

Rick,

Original Ms. Pacman boards used AC voltage inputs. They rectified them to DC on the Pacman pcb. Unless you put a switching power supply in the cabinet and modify the wiring so your board can take DC voltages (see Bob Roberts site), you can't do Jamma.

Also, Ms. Pacman has a 4-way joystick with zero buttons. Unless you hack one of the player start buttons to fire, you can't play Galaga.

Also, Nintendo games (e.g. Donkey Kong) use inverted video, so you'll need extra circuitry to make the shift -- not really worth the trouble.

Original Pacman / Ms. Pacman wiring isn't suited for Jamma.

Sorry,
Rocky
